Safeway $5 Fridays are a weekly sale event that allows shoppers to purchase selected items for just $5 each. The sale items vary from week to week and are usually announced a few days before the sale to give shoppers ample time to plan their shopping list.
To take advantage of Safeway $5 Fridays, you need to have a Safeway Club Card. If you don’t have one, it’s easy to get one at any Safeway store or online. The club card gives you access to the sale prices and other exclusive offers and promotions. You can also load digital coupons onto your club card to save even more money.

Safeway’s $5 Coupon Policy Evolving
Finally, Safeway has recently tightened up their coupon policies. They are no longer allowing coupons to be used in conjunction with their 5 Dollar Friday Deals, so if you do have a manufacturers coupon its an either or type situation. You can either have the Safeway $5 Friday Deal, or you can have the manufacturers coupon, not both.
Also, Safeway has historically extended the $5 Fridays deals through the weekend, however, this appears to be a less common now.
Finally, if you’re lookin for deals in addition to the $5 Friday offer, you can always double your manufacturers coupons. Safeway will do this up to a value of 50 cents.
