The Safeway deal is pretty cool. I have done my normal grocery shopping and have earned some great deals on gas. I am traveling back to Southern California to visit friends. I have earned three 10 cent gallons of gas that I can use. The first gallon of each of those three stops at the station will be only 10 cents.

So, if I pump a low enough gallons of gas - the average over all gallons pumped will be lower than any competing station in the area.

Safeway does it in my area, but I've seen a number of other grocery stores do it. This tends not to be a company wide thing. Some of the newer grocery stores are being built with affiliated gas stations, but others partner with local gas stations.

Any other stores that do this beside Kroger. We don't have a Kroger store here.

Kroger does this. You get $.10 off per gallon, per fillup for each $100 you spend.

Additionally, if you use your Kroger credit card, you get $.15 off. Plus, the Kroger card earns you points towards quarterly cash rebates.
