If you don't get the weekly ads delivered to your home, try signing up for their emails, or just go to their websites. They usually have the weekly ads online. If you want to price match, you might want to pick up the ad at Publix and take it to Walmart, or vice versa, since some require published (paper) proof of the price. You can find a list of grocery store websites, ads, which ones offer double coupons, etc., here.

There are some great forums discussing prices of the week. And, if you want to know in general which store has the best prices, you might want to keep a Price book. Time and practice are the best guide, though...and the more you save, the picker you might get about prices. $1.79 for a can of green beans seems ridiculous. Find it for $1 a can, you might be impressed. But find it at 3/$1, and you should stock up...and then the $1 a can won't look like a great price at all. After a few shopping trips, you will have a good feeling for what you are willing to pay, and not pay, for something.

I tend to ignore the stores "stock up" price notices, they just mean they want you to BUY it! Real stock up prices are usually seasonal, or lucky finds.

Ask lots of questions! You can't ask too many here, and we'll always try to answer with as many details as you like. HTH

I am brand new to couponing and am a very detailed-type person. I am going to bookmark this article and read again and again becuase being only 3 weeks into it, I am spending a LOT of time on it, and wondering if it is really worth it.

My question is - how do you find out that every store in the neighborhood has the same price for that soup? I took my Publix list to Walmart and was disappointted to find that many of the "get this now/stockup" deals at PUblix really only meant that Publix was meeting Walmart's price - or that Walmart's Great Value brand of that item was actually cheaper! How can I find these things out without actually driving to Publix, looking at all the prices, then to Walmart, look at all the prices, decide what to buy at Walmart, buy it, then drive back to Publix to buy what's a better deal there?

Many stores exclude internet-printed coupons because they can be counterfitted. Coupons.com and other souces are aware of this and are working with stores to update technology to make them less easy to fake. More stores are accepting internet printed coupons "if they scan", and many will accept only the ones available for printing from their store website. Email your store and ask them what their specific policy is, and check with coupons.com to see if they are aware of the problem. They often offer work arounds.

You can also contact the manufacturers directly and tell them of your frustration and concerns. Often they will send VIP coupons directly to your postal mail box.
